The 3rd Intl. Symposium on Cone Penetration Testing (CPT'14), Las Vegas, NV

A total 300 participants enjoyed the plenary lectures, poster sessions, and social programs at CPT'14 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Las Vegas in May 2014.  The proceedings are available in hard copy, CD disk, and online at: www.cpt14.com  An interesting venue as you enter the lobby on the 23rd floor of the high rise and the rooms are below you.  We had a great program with keynote lectures by Joek Peuchen, Paul Mayne, Jonathan Bray, and the 2014 James K. Mitchell Lecture by Professor Mike Jamiolkowski.  A fantastic banquet was held at the hotel pool with special entrees, drinks, and magicians. 

Also, TC 102 (alias TC 16) held a planning meeting for our next big event - the 5th International Conference on Site Characterization (ISC-5) that will be held in the Gold Coast near Brisbane, Australia in Sept 2016.  This will be hosted by Dr. Richard Kelly (Univ. NSW/Coffey), Allan McConnell (IGS), and Prof. Barry Lehane (UWA).
