EPILOGUE: ISC-4 - Pernambuco BRAZIL

EPILOGUE:   4th International Conference on Site Characterization

The ISC-4 was a very successful conference hosted by Roberto Coutinho and 530 participants in the lovely beach resort of Summerville near Porto de Galinhas, Brazil.  The keynote speakers, the special James K. Mitchell Lecture by Peter Robertson, the 2012 DeMello Lecture by Mike Jamiolkowski, and technical presentations and a workshop directed by Jim Mitchell all were well enjoyed.  A total of 41 exhibitor booths were available for inquiries and information on various geotechnical products and services. The Banquet was a great event with live jazz and local Brazilian music with dancing. Technical papers may be found in the two-volume proceedings available from CRC Press/Taylor & Francis - A Balkema Book entitled:  Geotechnical & Geophysical Site Characterization 4 (2013).
