Interpretation of Soil Parameters

The use of hybrid devices such as seismic piezocone, cone pressuremeter, and seismic flat dilatometer offer a maximized effort in data collection on soils. The results can be used to define soil layering, thickness, and consistency, as well as selected parameters (unit weight, preconsolidation, OCR, Ko) and soil properties (effective friction angle, small-strain shear modulus). In turn, the derivation of complete stress-strain-strength relationships can be implemented into closed-form analytical models or numerical simulations such as FEM and finite differences.
