Integrated Ground Behavior

In-situ testing combined with routine drilling, sampling, geophysics, & lab testing provide a powerful & efficient means to site characterization of soils. The geophysics can provide an overall expedient mapping of the general variations & relative dielectric & conductive properties of the site. Lab testing of high-quality samples define reference values of friction angle, preconsolidation, and index parameters. In-situ direct push probes (DMT, CPTu) delineate the geostratigraphy, stiffness, and strength characteristics. A constitutive framework that captured the nonlinear stress-strain-strength-flow characteristics would be ideal to interrelate these techniques.
