Cone Trucks

Special hydraulic pushing systems are available for conducting in-situ testing without a borehole. These cone rigs can push penetrometers, blades, and other instrumented probes to depths of up to 100 m in certain geologies. A normal sounding of 30 m can be accomplished in about 3 hours, much faster than conventional drilling & sampling operations. The devices can be truck-mounted, track-mounted, as well as on skids, boat, and train.
